At the
early age of 8, Brandon found his first true passion in life. He began
running Go-karts in the World Karting Association.
With the
help of his parents Rick and Terri, Brandon quickly became a threat to
win in any WKA event he entered. During the mid to late 1990’s Brandon
was employed by some of the sports largest and most successful chassis
and motor builders as their factory driver. In 1998, he had the
opportunity to compete in the Nascar Goody’s Dash Series. The early
passion from age 8 immediately grew to a burning desire to make the jump
from the WKA to NASCAR. In 2000, Brandon competed in 5 races finishing
an impressive 5th at Charlotte Motor Speedway. As Brandon
continued to gain experience, it was decided to run a limited schedule
again in 2001. In only his sixteenth start in a stock car, Brandon won
the race at the famed high-banks of the Bristol Motor Speedway. With a
victory and two years of building a quality race team, 2002 was
Brandon’s first full season in the Nascar Goody’s Dash Series. As the
2002 season came to a close, Brandon found himself 10th in
the overall championship standings and runner-up in the rookie of the
year standings. However, the highlight of 2002 came in June when Brandon
received his degree from Forsyth Technical College. With goals set
high, Brandon and the team returned in 2003 to compete for the
championship once again. By years end, Brandon finished 5th
out of sixty-five drivers in the overall championship standings with 5
top ten finishes, 3 top fives and one pole. Brandon also was awarded
the most improved driver award for the second consecutive season. For
2004, Brandon joined forces with five-time Dash Series champion and
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Robert Huffman. Brandon finished
the season 3rd in the overall points championship scoring two
poles, five top five finishes and consecutive wins at Motordrome
Speedway and Kentucky Speedway. For the 2005 season, Brandon set his
sights on the UARA-STARS Late Model Stock Touring Series. By seasons
end, Brandon finished with 4 top ten finishes in only 9 starts. During
the summer of 2005, Brandon participated in a Chevrolet factory
Craftsman Truck Series test. He also was victorious in the first ever ISCARS Touring series race at Shenandoah Speedway in Virginia. For the
2006 season, Brandon and the team will set their sights on the UARA-STARS
Championship.
